Lately Twitter just can’t seem to get anything right.
While Jack Dorsey’s social network has been frequently in the news for cracking down on outspoken members of the “alt-right”, or those accused of harrassment such as Martin Shkreli most recently, it has also been accused of taking a soft hand on those who post real threats, such as terrorist who use the social network to coordinate attacks.
A 2014 article in The Atlantic titled “How ISIS Games Twitter” described how “extremists of all stripes are increasingly using social media to recruit, radicalize and raise funds.” … [read more]

Two court cases and a terror plot tip-off highlight that terrorism is still a threat to the United States.
An Ohio man found guilty of a terrorist plot to attack the US Capitol building screamed “Allah is in control, not this judge!” as he was led from the courtroom after being sentenced. Christopher Lee Cornell, of Cincinnati was sentenced to 30 years in prison and lifetime probation following his release. He pleaded guilty to charges brought against him for his intentions to attack the Capitol during President Barack Obama’s State of the Union Address.
The would-be jihadist was arrested in January 2015. The authorities found two semi-automatic rifles and 600 rounds of ammunition in preparation for the assault.
A Detroit man who amassed a weapons arsenal and discussed violent plans with an undercover FBI agent has now been charged with receipt of explosive materials with intent to harm. Something has been building within for the German people. Putin, Rouhani and Aliyev meet in Baku, sign agreements in security and combatting terrorism; Construction of railway link between Iran and Azerbaijan to begin in “nearest months”
Putin met with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev in Baku on Monday, their meeting centered on talks and agreements in economic cooperation and most importantly the North-South transport corridor- a railway link between Iran and Azerbaijan.
Putin stated ahead of their meeting “we are starting off with a clean slate in our relations with this trilateral meeting,” with President Aliyey stating “Azerbaijan is the only country in the world that has borders both with Iran and Russia. There are railway links between Russia and Azerbaijan. This year we’ve taken a decision that Azerbaijan will construct a railroad to Iran’s border. Hopefully, we’ll do it within the nearest months.”
The three leaders additionally signed agreements in security and combating terrorism.
A declaration released from their meeting states “The sides intend to make efforts on integration of regional transport and communication opportunities for creation of safe transport infrastructure.
