Jewish, Muslim and Christian Leaders call for Greater Religious Tolerance in U.S., World

Jewish, Muslim and Christian leaders gathered in Los Angeles at the Museum of Tolerance Wednesday to discuss progress on religious freedom in the Arab world. They also called for more religious tolerance in the world and in the U.S.

The gathering included a morning news conference and also an evening ceremony at which the leaders will release publicly for the first time a document known as the “Bahrain Declaration for Religious Tolerance.

King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the king of Bahrain wrote the document. According to the Simon Wiesenthal Center, a global human rights organization co-sponsoring the event, the declaration is the first of its kind written by an Arab Head of State…. read more

opinion: So it begins the cry for a one world religion. Believer’s in Christ Jesus should not accept tolerance. What does tolerance mean — 1. tolerating or being tolerant, esp. of views, beliefs, practices, etc. of others that differ from one’s own, 2. freedom from bigotry or prejudice The bible clearly talks about whom you are going to serve, how God is a jealous God, and you cannot serve God and mammon.

Joshua 24:15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.

Deuteronomy 30:19 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:

Exodus 20:5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;

Exodus 34:14 For thou shalt worship no other god: for the Lord, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God:

Matthew 6:24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

There are many more, we hope you read them for yourselves, God Bless

False Religion Leading The Way For The False Savior

2030 agendaThe preparing of a false religion is rising up and for those who know the scripture they can see it coming. A false religion will tell you that everyone can coexist and be united on common ground.

In order for the one religion to occur then other religions must be eliminated. Each religion believes their religion is the only way. This is already known about the Catholic Church. They worship Mary, ask for forgiveness from men, believe salvation is faith plus works, and the only way to heaven is by being a Catholic.

“At times one hears someone say: ‘I believe in God, I believe in Jesus, but I don’t care about the Church…’. How many times have we heard this? And this is not good. There are those who believe they can maintain a personal, direct and immediate relationship with Jesus Christ outside the communion and the mediation of the Church. These are dangerous and harmful temptations,” he continued. (1)… read more

Jesus appears to jailer in Middle East, leading to release of imprisoned pastors

cross-bibleTwo pastors conducting a Bible study for new believers in an underground Middle East church were beaten, arrested by police, and taken to a secret jail. But after Jesus appeared to an official at the prison, their situation changed dramatically.

“Police brought us to the religious (Shariah) court,” Pastor Irshad* told Bibles4Mideast. “We were accused of blasphemy charges against the prophet, as well as misguiding Muslims into a false religion. The court ordered we be imprisoned, and we were taken to a secret jail run by secret police.”

During the first few days in prison they received harsh treatment. “The jail wardens brutally beat and persecuted us,” Pastor Irshad recounted.“They tied our hands up through the hole of a steel bar which forced us into a bent position while they beat us.”……

…….After three days, he had yet another dream. Jesus appeared before him and said, “My children are being tortured in your jail. I leave them before you. My children are the apple of my eyes.”…. [read more]

Congress passes bill to protect non-believers for first time

SMITH-RELIGIOUSFREEDOMWASHINGTON — In updating an 18-year-old religious freedom law, Congress this year decided for the first time to expressly protect the rights of people around the world who practice no religion at all.

President Obama signed the International Religious Freedom Act on Friday, hailed by Republicans and Democrats as way to strengthen the ability of the United States to call out countries that oppress or persecute people for their religious beliefs.

But now the law includes a reference to nonbelievers as well.

“The freedom of thought, conscience, and religion is understood to protect theistic and non-theistic beliefs and the right not to profess or practice any religion,” according to the new law governing international programs, which passed the House and Senate unanimously, without controversy… [read more]

Critics on Civil Rights Report: It’s ‘Dangerous’ — Important to ‘Push Back Against This Nonsense’

(CNSNews.com) – Faith leaders and religious liberty advocates are weighing in on the recently released U.S. Commission on Civil Rights report that concluded terms such as “religious liberty” and “religious freedom” were code words for discrimination and even “Christian supremacy.”

Their response is clear: The commission is out of step with the founding principles of the United States of America and its findings threaten the free practice of religion in this country.

“The phrases ‘religious liberty’ and ‘religious freedom’ will stand for nothing except hypocrisy so long as they remain code words for discrimination, intolerance, racism, sexism, homophobia, Islamophobia, Christian supremacy or any form of intolerance,” Martin Castro, chairman of the commission, said in a statement included in the 296-page report….. “No one denigrating religious freedom should be serving on a civil rights commission, much less being its chairman,” Shackelford said. “Calling religious freedom and liberty ‘code words’ for racism, homophobia, and sexism is reprehensible. America was founded on religious freedom.”

ABORTIONISTS NOW DEMAND CHRISTIANS PROMOTE PROCEDURE

Christian pro-life counseling centers are fighting a mandate from the government in California, based on instructions from NARAL Pro-Choice America to lawmakers there, that they promote abortion even if the procedure violates their faith.

The state has adopted a requirement, in a plan sponsored by the abortionists, that crisis pregnancy centers must promote the state’s offerings for abortion, whether they believe in it, support it, or even whether it offends their deeply held religious beliefs.

The same plan had been adopted in New York, but was dropped after a legal challenge there.

The result is that pregnancy care centers in New York City can continue to “serve women without being forced to speak or post messages that are contrary to their pro-life beliefs or that direct women away from the services the centers offer,” according to officials with the the Alliance Defending Freedom, which fought the state government over the issue there….. lhwm notes: Proverbs 6:16 There are six things the Lord hates, seven that are detestable to him: 17 haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, 18 a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, 19 a false witness who pours out lies and a person who stirs up conflict in the community.

There is no more gray.

Saving Christian Colleges from Annihilation by the State

In case you haven’t heard, the California state legislature is poised to pass a bill that would effectively close down Christian colleges in California. The long and short of it is this. There is bill in California that would deny federal funds to any college or university that maintains faithfulness to what the Bible teaches about sexuality. The ERLC released a statement today opposing the bill and describing its harms:

Senate Bill 1146 results in its own form of discrimination by stigmatizing and coercively punishing religious beliefs that disagree on contested matters related to human sexuality. If SB 1146 were to pass, it would deny students’ ability to participate in state grant programs—programs that exist to help low-income students, and which are overwhelmingly used by racial minorities—at schools that are found in violation of the bill. Moreover, it would severely restrict the ability of religious education institutions to set expectations of belief and conduct that align with the institution’s religious tenets.

The statement statement requests the California state legislature to drop the bill, and the request is signed by a number of religious leaders from across the country. Among other things, the statement says this:

While we do not all agree on religious matters, we all agree that the government has no place in discriminating against poor religious minorities or in pitting a religious education institution’s faith-based identity against its American identity.

Russia about to endorse fines for sharing faith

A Christian ministry that works with persecuted Christians worldwide has announced a day of prayer and fasting for Wednesday, June 29, in response to legislation in Russia hearkening back to the communist era that would require anyone who wants to share their faith to obtain government authorization.

According to Barnabas Fund, two members of the Russian parliament, the Duma, “introduced a series of amendments to anti-terrorist legislation that would require individuals to gain prior state authorization before even discussing their faith with someone else.”

“The Duma adopted the amendments and [Wednesday] the bill will be discussed by the Council of the Russian Federation and then be sent to Russian President Vladimir Putin.”

Such restrictions long have been sought by Muslim majority countries, who cast it as a religious freedom issue, claiming that no one should “disparage” any religion, although the only beneficiary appears to be Islam….. [read more]
