President Donald Trump just moved Planned Parenthood funding to the state level, in essence defunding the abortion giant at the federal level.
The bill allows states to withhold federal money from Planned Parenthood.
PBS reports Trump, signed the measure in private and reversed the Obama administration’s regulation that required state and local governments to distribute federal dollars for family planning services—including contraception, sexually transmitted diseases, fertility, pregnancy care, and breast and cervical cancer screening—to qualified health providers, irrespective of whether the providers also performed abortions, PBS reports…. read more
WASHINGTON — Vice President Pence cast a tie-breaking Senate vote Thursday to pass legislation that will allow states to withhold federal funds from Planned Parenthood and other health care providers that perform abortions.
The measure, which now goes to President Trump for his signature, dismisses an Obama-era rule banning states from denying federal funds to such organizations.
Pence’s vote was needed to break a 50-50 tie. Republicans Susan Collins of Maine and Lisa Murkowski of Alaska broke with their party, voting against the measure.
Republicans have said the Obama rule should be overturned to allow states the right to steer funds away from abortion providers, if they choose…. [read more]
Planned Parenthood boss Cecile Richards is tweeting again … and further showing Planned Parenthood’s disconnect with humanity.
Richards took to social media to proclaim, “Planned Parenthood is proud to provide abortion – a necessary service that’s as vital to our mission as birth control or cancer screenings.”
With 40 Days for Life vigils at more than 130 Planned Parenthood locations right now, we know that Planned Parenthood is “proud” of abortion.
But what about the women who have abortions at Planned Parenthood? You will not see pride on their faces — or peace. Only despair and loneliness. Planned Parenthood is finished with them at that point…. [read more]
Matthew 24:12 And because there will be more and more lawlessness, most people’s love will grow cold.
The Rev. Franklin Graham recently wrote that raising support for Planned Parenthood is like “raising money to fund a Nazi death camp.”
Graham’s words came in response to the news that Barbara Bush, the daughter of former President George W. Bush, would be delivering the keynote address at a Planned Parenthood fundraiser.
Bush is the co-founder and CEO of Global Health Corps and has previously praised Planned Parenthood.
“So many young people want to work on social change. They want to do good. Global Health started because this great talent pipeline was not moving into health care. It’s hard to know how you fit in if you’re not a doctor or nurse. If we can demystify that and create channels into Planned Parenthood and other exceptional organizations, then we’ll have an army of people working to solve health problems,” she said last summer when asked about her work with Global Health.
Graham went on to say that Planned Parenthood is the number one abortion provider in the U.S. and performs over 300,000 abortions a year. “And this is the organisation whose employees were caught on video trying to sell baby body parts over wine. Disgusting,” he added. [FULL SOURCE]
