In a curious convergence of superpower opinions, earlier on Thursday, Russian President Vladimir Putin called for the country to reinforce its military nuclear potential. In a speech that recapped military activities in 2016, Putin said the army’s preparedness has “considerably increased” and called for continued improvement that would ensure it can “neutralise any military threat”.
“We need to strengthen the military potential of strategic nuclear forces, especially with missile complexes that can reliably penetrate any existing and prospective missile defence systems,” the Russian president said.
He added that Russia “must carefully monitor any changes in the balance of power and in the political-military situation in the world, especially along Russian borders, and quickly adapt plans for neutralising threats to our country.”… [read more]
RUSSIA IS BUILDING LARGE NUMBERS OF UNDERGROUND NUCLEAR COMMAND BUNKERS IN THE LATEST SIGN MOSCOW IS MOVING AHEAD WITH A MAJOR STRATEGIC FORCES MODERNIZATION PROGRAM.
U.S. intelligence officials said construction has been underway for several years on “dozens” of underground bunkers in Moscow and around the country. Disclosure of the underground command bunkers comes as Army Gen. Curtis Scaparrotti, commander of U.S. European Command, warned recently that Russia has adopted a nuclear use doctrine he called “alarming.”
“It is clear that Russia is modernizing its strategic forces,” Scaparrotti told a conference sponsored by the U.S. Strategic Command.
“RUSSIAN DOCTRINE STATES THAT TACTICAL NUCLEAR WEAPONS MAY BE USED IN A CONVENTIONAL RESPONSE SCENARIO,” SCAPARROTTI SAID ON JULY 27. “THIS IS ALARMING AND IT UNDERSCORES WHY OUR COUNTRY’S NUCLEAR FORCES AND NATO’S CONTINUES TO BE A VITAL COMPONENT OF OUR DETERRENCE.”…. [read more]
Iran is permitted to pursue the construction of two newly announced nuclear plants under the parameters of last summer’s nuclear agreement, Obama administration officials informed the Washington Free Beacon, setting the stage for Tehran to move forward with construction following orders from President Hassan Rouhani.
Ali Salehi, Iran’s top nuclear official, announced on Thursday that Iran has invested $10 billion into the construction of two new nuclear plants after receiving orders from Rouhani, according to reports in Iran’s state-controlled media.
A State Department official said to the Free Beacon following the announcement that Iran is allowed to move forward with this venture under the nuclear agreement, which does not prohibit this type of nuclear construction….. [read more]
LHWM Notes: God is in control! So how far will Iran go? As far as God will let them. In the end God will destroy the earth, not man. It is already written in the Word of God Isaiah 24 (old versions).
The Holy See has no illusions about the challenges involved in achieving a world free of nuclear weapons.
“Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, and thy spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee. For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city. Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle.” Zechariah 14:1-3 (KJV)
They don’t call him ‘Red Francis’ for nothing. Nuclear disarmament is a communist goal. The Vatican knows full well that Iran will use this to build more nuclear weapons, not less and that this deal ensures a world war and bloodshed. Then they put the blame on Israel for having nukes to defend herself. It’s reprehensible. These people aren’t stupid – they have a different agenda than we do….. [read more]
The largest country in the world by area, Russia has plenty of room to hide things. Naturally, that includes nuclear missiles. Unlike American missiles, which are stationed in concrete silos, Russian intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs) are deployed on large truck-like vehicles designed to prowl the country’s road networks before unleashing Armageddon.
Russia Today has a story on a Russian strategic missile exercise that involves a massive convoy traveling from European-Russian border all the way to the Mongolian border. Russian mobile ICBMs have established, permanent bases but leave in groups on month-long patrols. This particular 400-vehicle convoy includes Topol, Topol-M, and Yars mobile missiles, as well as command and control, security, and logistics vehicles….. [read more]
