The government’s brutal actions at the Al-aksa Mosque, changing the status quo by placing metal detectors, will necessarily lead to a third Intifada, that already began today,” Joint List Member of Parliament Taleb Abu Arar, said Friday afternoon. The lawmaker warned of a major Palestinian uprising and accused the police of killing three Palestinians in clashes following weekly prayers in Jerusalem.
“Those who initiated the violence and killed three Palestinians were the Israeli police,” he said.
MK Ahmad Tibi, also from the Joint List party, said that the responsibility to the clashes to those who died is the government and its head, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.<!–more–>
French President Emmanuel Macron on Wednesday condemned Israeli “settlement construction” during a meeting in Paris with Palestinian Authority (PA) chairman Mahmoud Abbas.
Expressing concern about the “deteriorating situation” unfolding in Judea and Samaria, eastern Jerusalem, and Gaza, Macron said that the continued “absence of a political horizon feeds despair and extremism,” according to comments quoted by i24news.
He reiterated France’s position that “there is no viable alternative to a two-state solution,” and said Israel’s “settlement building” has reached “unprecedented levels” since the beginning of the year.
Abbas, for his part, claimed his government is ready to sign a peace agreement and is waiting on Israel’s response.<!–more–>
UNESCO has proved that Israel’s narrative with regard to Jerusalem is false, the Palestinian Authority and Hamas said on Wednesday after the World Heritage Committee disavowed Israeli sovereignty over the city.
Hamas spokesman Abudllatif al-Qanoun, in a statement to the press, claimed that UNESCO’s resolution demolishes the false Israeli narrative and asserts the Palestinian right in Jerusalem and al-Aksa Mosque.
PA spokesman Yousef al-Mahmoud made a similar statement to the Palestinian news agency Wafa.
Mahmoud called on the international community to “enforce these decisions on the ground in order to lift injustice, oppression and domination practiced by the occupying power against our steadfast people in the city of Jerusalem and against its Islamic and Christian holy places.”<!–more–>

Israeli officials angrily rejected a resolution by a UN body condemning its activity in East Jerusalem and the Old City, with the Foreign Ministry saying the move was irrelevant.
After the United Nations Educational, Scientific, Cultural Organization’s World Heritage Council on Tuesday evening passed a resolution denouncing Israeli activity in the Old City of Jerusalem, the Foreign Ministry responded by saying the decision cannot change the reality that Jerusalem is the capital of the Jewish people.
The Jordanian-sponsored resolution in the United Nations Educational, Scientific, Cultural Organization’s World Heritage Council called Israel “the occupying power” in the Old City of Jerusalem and reaffirmed previous UN resolutions denying the country’s claims to East Jerusalem. Israel’s annexation of East Jerusalem has never been recognized by the international community.<!–more–>
The Muslims believe that the western wall belongs to them and the Jews believe the exact same thing, this creates a large problem. An article by Jpost states “The Western Wall can only remain under Muslim sovereignty, a senior adviser to Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas said during a Friday sermon.” and they are not willing to give not even “one millimeter of it“.
As you can read no one is willing to share the western wall. Each believe that this wall belongs to them according to their religion. According to Jpost it states “Jews revere the wall as the remnant of a retaining wall that surrounds the site where their ancient temples once stood. Muslims regard the wall as the location where the Prophet Muhammed tethered his winged steed during his overnight journey from Mecca to Jerusalem.” These two statements clearly show peace will not occur between two differing religions…. read more
