The Parting Shot :: By Greg May

Before leaving office, President Obama did what many feared he would do and what the White House had implied it might do one day—instruct America’s ambassador to the United Nations to abandon Israel.

The context of the U.N. resolution was to condemn the Jewish state. U.N. resolutions condemning Israel are nothing new. In fact, of all the nations in the world including dictator states, terrorist states and states given to mass murder of its own citizens, it is the tiny democratic nation of Israel that has been condemned by the United Nations more than any other nation.

What was unique about that particular resolution was its extremity. It began by claiming that Israel had no right to Jerusalem, but it went further. It declared that Jerusalem was “Palestinian territory.” Beyond that, it alleged that Israel was an “occupying power.”… read more

At “World Government Summit,” Top Globalists Drop The Mask

The New American: Meeting this week at the annual “World Government Summit” in the United Arab Emirates, under the shadow of a replica monument from the false god Baal’s temple, top globalists and establishment leaders from around the planet offered a series of stunning revelations about their agenda.

From the socialist new UN secretary-general and the embattled boss of the International Monetary Fund to national government leaders and tax-funded crony capitalists, over a hundred prominent speakers lectured thousands of attendees on the supposed necessity of globalism, multiculturalism, statism, Big Government, social engineering, “sustainability,” and more.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres (shown above), a Socialist Party politician and bureaucrat, similarly promoted statism and globalism in his keynote speech. Specifically, he argued that national independence was a relic of the past, while lamenting the fact that people no longer trust their rulers and the globalist organizations they established…. more

Our World: The Livni-Fayyad two-step

The only way to get the UN to think twice before it attacks Israel is for Israel to stop acting like a chump.

MK Tzipi Livni is apparently well regarded at the UN. According to media reports, UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres called Livni and offered her the position of under-secretary-general.

Guterres’s offer to Livni is supposed to be a trade-off. Livni will receive the appointment in exchange for the US canceling its veto of his plan to appoint former Palestinian Authority prime minister Salaam Fayyad to serve as his envoy to Libya.

There are three basic problems with this proposed trade. First there is the problem with Fayyad.

Leaving aside the question of the actual duties of a UN envoy to Libya, the question is why would Fayyad be a good candidate for anything?

Before Fayyad joined the PLO-controlled PA in 2002, he served for six years as the International Monetary Fund’s representative to the PA. In that position, Fayyad turned a blind eye to the embezzlement of the donor-financed PA budget to the tune of hundreds of millions of dollars a year…. [read more]

New leaders and their leadership will be tested for the purpose of finding their strengths and weaknesses. President Trump faces many obstacles and challenges. Christians are to keep him, his counsel, and our government in prayer before God.

1 Timothy 2:1 First of all, then, I admonish and urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be offered on behalf of all men, 2 For kings and all who are in positions of authority or high responsibility, that [outwardly] we may pass a quiet and undisturbed life [and inwardly] a peaceable one in all godliness and reverence and seriousness in every way. 3 For such [praying] is good and right, and [it is] pleasing and acceptable to God our Savior, 4 Who wishes all men to be saved and [increasingly] to perceive and recognize and discern and know precisely and correctly the [divine] Truth.

The US Strikes a New Tone at the UN by Standing With Israel

Newly instated US Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley passed her first test on Saturday, showing loyalty to her country’s greatest ally in the Middle East, Israel. On Friday, UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres announced that he would be naming former Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Salam Fayyad as a special representative for Libya. In a letter rejecting the idea and warning that the US would veto the appointment at the Security Council, she wrote:

The United States was disappointed to see a letter indicating the intention to appoint the former Palestinian Authority Prime Minister to lead the UN Mission in Libya. For too long the UN has been unfairly biased in favor of the Palestinian Authority to the determinant of our allies in Israel.  The United States does not currently recognize a Palestinian state or support the signal this appointment would send within the United Nations, however, we encourage the two sides to come together directly on a solution. Going forward the United States will act, not just talk, in support of our allies… [read more]

lhwm opinion: What a difference a real leader makes. President Trump may not accomplish everything but it is a far sight better than destroying everything. I hope it has not been forgotten the treatment that was extended to PM Netanyahu by the Democrats and the hostility under Obama.

U.N. Official Admits Global Warming Agenda Is Really About Destroying Capitalism

A shocking statement was made by a United Nations official Christiana Figueres at a news conference in Brussels.

Figueres admitted that the Global Warming conspiracy set by the U.N.’s Framework Convention on Climate Change, of which she is the executive secretary, has a goal not of environmental activists is not to save the world from ecological calamity, but to destroy capitalism. She said very casually:

“This is the first time in the history of mankind that we are setting ourselves the task of intentionally, within a defined period of time, to change the economic development model that has been reigning for at least 150 years, since the Industrial Revolution.”

She even restated that goal ensuring it was not a mistake:… [a must read]
