Russia Plans National Biometric Database Starting Next Year

Russia will get a country-wide biometric database for financial services starting next summer, the central bank said.

The system will expand access to banking by letting people open accounts without having to visit a branch and is a key milestone in digitizing financial services, the Bank of Russia said in a statement. The regulator said that data would only be stored with individuals’ consent. Legal changes needed for the system passed this month.

State-owned Rostelecom PJSC has been selected to run the database, which will collect personal data including images of faces, voice samples and, eventually, irises and fingerprints. Facial-recognition technology has been gaining consumer acceptance around the world, with Apple Inc.’s latest iPhone using it to unlock the device. In Russia, the authorities and government-linked companies are leading the charge… more

Israel, Cyprus, Greece, Italy and EU Sign on to World’s Longest Natural Gas Pipeline

BIN: A memorandum of understanding (MOU) for construction of the world’s longest underwater natural gas pipeline is to be signed by the the energy ministers of Israel, Cyprus, Greece, Italy and the European Union on Tuesday.

Israel’s Minister of National Infrastructure, Energy and Water Resources Yuval Steinitz confirmed to Tazpit Press Service that he will attend the summit that will be held in the Cypriot capital Nicosia.

In April representatives of the EU, Israel, Italy, Greece and Cyprus signed a joint declaration to promoting the project to export gas to Europe from Israel’s Leviathan field and Cyprus’ Aphrodite bloc and decided to establish a workgroup to promote an interstate agreement. more …

Opinion by BIBLE PROPHECY TRACKER: Mission control: we have a problem.

globe

The guy on the right would like to have the guy on the left give the guy on the right control of the Leviathan gas field. If the guy on the left sells gas to the guy on the right’s customers in Europe, the guy on the right is not going to smile any more.

“On that day it shall come to pass that thoughts will arise in your mind, and you will make an evil plan: You will say, ‘I will go up against a land of unwalled villages; I will go to a peaceful people, who dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates’— to take plunder and to take booty …” (Ezekiel 38:10-12).

Most energy analysts agree that a major part of Israel’s great wealth is the Leviathan gas field which sits just offshore from Gaza.

In 2010 the Leviathan discovery was called the most prominent field ever found in the sub-explored area of the Levantine Basin, which covers about 83,000 square kilometers of the eastern Mediterranean region.

When coupled with Tamar field, in the same location, discovered one year earlier, they give Israel the potential to become a net energy exporter. Since Russia’s economy depends on oil and gas sales, Putin will not tolerate competition for his government majority-owned oil and gas giant Gazprom to lose its biggest customer.

But there are three Bible prophecies that have the potential to make Israel even more of a target.

Genesis 49:25 “By the God of your father who will help you, And by the Almighty who will bless you With blessings of heaven above, Blessings of the deep that lies beneath, Blessings of the breasts and of the womb.”

Deuteronomy 33:19 “They shall call the peoples to the mountain; There they shall offer sacrifices of righteousness; For they shall partake of the abundance of the seas And of treasures hidden in the sand.”

Isaiah 45:3 “I will give you the treasures of darkness And hidden riches of secret places, That you may know that I, the Lord, Who call you by your name, Am the God of Israel.”

If the carefully guarded Golan oil find of October 2016, or a find not known yet, were to make Israel an even bigger threat, Vladimir Putin will be pulled literally with ‘hooks in his jaw’ (Ezekiel 38:4) to take the plunder to protect Russia’s economy.

The road to Gog and Magog gets even shorter with the world’s longest natural gas pipeline.

What is Putin planning? Massive Russian war game set to launch Thursday on borders of three NATO countries & Ukraine. Here’s the latest.

Putin-phone(Jerusalem, Israel) — Is Russia preparing to invade another European country, or simply training its forces to do so in the future?

That’s the big question as Vladimir Putin prepares to launch a massive series of war games on Thursday dangerously close to the borders of three NATO member states — the Baltic states of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania — as well as Ukraine, which Russia has invaded and occupied portions of twice since 2014.

While it sounds eerily similar to the plot of my forthcoming political thriller, The Kremlin Conspiracy, the exercise — code-named “Zapad-2017” (Zapad in Russian means “West”) is all-too-real. It is set to begin on September 14 and conclude on September 20th, and tensions in the region are high…. read more
