Exodus 3:13 ESV Then Moses said to God, “If I come to the people of Israel and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they ask me, ‘What is his name?’ what shall I say to them?” 14 God said to Moses, “I am who I am.” And he said, “Say this to the people of Israel: ‘I am has sent me to you.'”
The Old Testament prophets, inspired by the Holy Spirit, told of a coming Messiah. Jesus the Messiah came and He described Himself in many ways including, I AM.
God called Moses to Egypt to set the Israelites free from being under the bondage of Pharaoh. Moses ask God, who do I tell the people sent me. God calls Himself, “I am who I am,…I AM has sent you.”
God describes Himself, I AM That I AM…. read more
…. The stronghold, what we believe as truth, is false or lies. Jesus Christ is the truth and we reason the real truth away based on our false truth because we give the lies more weight. The lies, which are of Satan and worldly knowledge and ways, form our thoughts and engage our emotions. Our reasoning believes the world offers places of safety. Our conclusion or decision is the knowledge we have will keep us from misery, suffering, and pain or we are not to suffer. In Christ, God’s word will actively seek to completely destroy our false truth.
So, the war is against two existing realities, one false but seen and one true but invisible. Unbelievers make every choice based on the influence of Satan, how they feel, and what they think with the worldly knowledge they have. So, the arguments or speculations are against God’s word being the only truth. When we push back against God’s word we hold the opinions and thoughts of ourself and the world higher than the true knowledge of God….. read more
Revelation chapter seven is a break from the storm that has been raging. This is the eye of the storm so to speak with the worst to come. There is an eerie quiet and stillness from the war, famine, disease, carnage of death and destruction with the opening of six of the seven seals which included sending the Antichrist.
Revelation 7 HCSB 1 After this I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, restraining the four winds of the earth so that no wind could blow on the earth or on the sea or on any tree. 2 Then I saw another angel, who had the seal of the living God rise up from the east. He cried out in a loud voice to the four angels who were empowered to harm the earth and the sea: 3 “Don’t harm the earth or the sea or the trees until we seal the slaves of our God on their foreheads.” 4 And I heard the number of those who were sealed: 144,000 sealed from every tribe of the Israelites:….
This chapter is about angels, the Tribes of Israel, and countless people from every nation, all tribes, peoples, and languages.
We will look at each one starting with the angels…. read more
John 18:37 ESV 38 Pilate said to him, “What is truth?”
“Pontius Pilat was the Roman governor of Judea from A.D. 26-36, serving under Emperor Tiberius.” (gotquestions.org)
In the bible Pontius Pilat is the one who dealt with the religious leaders of the Jews concerning their insistence that Jesus be killed by crucifixion. He was involved in the trials, beatings, and finally giving way to the people by sending Jesus to His death.
That was thousands of years ago and yet the same question is ask today, what is truth?
The worldly and God define truth differently. The world defines truth as:
1. Something is true when it agrees with my or societies reality
2. Something is true if I think or feel it is true
3. Something is true when it can not be changed by my feelings or thoughts
The world which defines truth as relative, is only relative to each individual. In other words people define truth compared to their definition of lie, truth, and what they accept…. read more
Fall an fail have alot of similarities. In the definitions of fall the word fail is included. Many think once they have fallen they have failed. In one since this is true, such as a business that has fallen into bankruptcy, a marriage that has fallen into disrepair, and so on.
But for those of us who are believers falling into sin does not mean failure as a child of God.
Fall – to cease to be active or strong, to lose strength, to be overthrown or captured; to be destroyed (1913 Webster)
Fail– to lose strength, be unsuccessful, to stop functioning (merriam-webster.com) to be or become deficient in any measure or degree up to total absence, to be altogether cut off from supply (1913 Webster)
The world judges people by exterior looks. A persons education, status, possessions, etc. This is why deception is so easily peddled in this world. Covering up a wicked heart with behavior acceptable to society is not that difficult and is very common. Why?
Jeremiah 17:9 The heart is more deceitful than anything else, and incurable—who can understand it?… read more
I was surprised when I looked up the word strongholds in the bible and found it is in the New Testament once and all others are in the Old Testament. In the Old Testament it refers to physical places. In the New Testament it refers to the spiritual battle in our mind.
There are books, gatherings, teachings, and sermons on the subject of spiritual warfare against strongholds, however they seem to miss a believers warfare is caused by people teaching false doctrine. It is the weapons that are spiritual. Not to say Satan, who is a created spiritual being, does not rule the world system at this time, because he does. But the warfare is Satan’s attack on the Word of God, Jesus Christ, and the Truth.
Our True Enemy
1 Peter 5:8 ESV Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.
Satan is everyone’s enemy. However, it is when you stop being lead by him and live lead by Christ submitted to the control and power of the Holy Spirit, that this becomes a reality…. read more
Bible – Written word of God | Jesus – Living word of God
Genesis 1:1 In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.
In The Beginning
It is not that God has a beginning or end but the world and mankind have a beginning and end. Does this include Christ Jesus?
John 1:1 ESV In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God.
v1) In the beginning
Before time existed was the Word. The Word is Christ. The Word, Christ, was with God. The Word, Christ, is God
v2) In the beginning
Christ Jesus pre-existed. Christ, God, is self-existing.
Beginning-746-arxe- properly, from the beginning (temporal) sense), i.e. “the initial (starting) point”; (figuratively) what comes first and therefore is chief (foremost), i.e. has the priority because ahead of the rest (“preeminent”) (biblehub.org)…. read more
Bible – Written word of God | Jesus – Living word of God
For over a year I have been compelled to write that Jesus and the bible are in essence, one. The bible and Jesus are so misrepresented today from the new translations in that they either leave out or change who He is, to teaching false doctrine. I began reading a book by Herbert Lockyer, thick book, that put together the “Messianic Prophecies”. This will not be in-depth but to bring us to full acceptance Jesus is the Word of God.
John 1:1 AMP In the beginning [before all time] was the Word (Christ), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God Himself. 2 He was [continually existing] in the beginning [co-eternally] with God…..
14 And the Word (Christ) became flesh, and lived among us; and we [actually] saw His glory, glory as belongs to the [One and] only begotten Son of the Father, [the Son who is truly unique, the only One of His kind, who is] full of grace and truth (absolutely free of deception)…. read more
