Voting For President Trump Was Not A Spiritual Act: Wake Up Church!

I voted. I always vote. And I voted for Trump.

My father taught us that voting was not just a right, it was a responsibility for every citizen. My grandparents from both sides emigrated to America from Ukraine in the early 20th Century. I think my father viewed America as a huge blessing, in light of the never-ending persecution and slaughter of the Jewish people.

My father would say to us “America may not be perfect but there is no better country.” After WWII my dad realized that this country was truly the only one which supported the State of Israel. He also knew that the chances of a mass slaughter of Jews would likely never happen in the U.S.

In these last days, I’m not so sure of that.

Your good citizenship matters

Proverbs 29:2 by DarkLord2017There is much discussed and written about how the United States is under judgment and how the nation needs to repent. The news media and politicians usually are angered greatly by these assertions. “Certainly, it is those right wing Christian lunatics at it again,” they might say. Everyone and anyone has license to ridicule those who believe that the moral decay of our nation found across political parties as well as entertainment, media, business, education and other fields could be reasons that our nation is facing sure financial crisis, a media crisis, a breakdown of the family, a marriage crisis, a murder crisis, especially of the unborn, and continuous threat from Islamic terrorists.

In all fairness, perhaps Christians too often attribute this condition to God when much of the problems of this nation have been brought on by ourselves–we, as citizens. There are just certain principles that apply. If you spend more than you take in, you are in debt; if you allow the breakdown of the family structure, your society will reflect it; if your choices go against good wisdom, there are consequences. Enough people doing the wrong things can bring down an entire society. There is also a collective nature to a society that God judges as a reflection of the people. Now is when people hit the unsubscribe button and run out of the room screaming, “I’m a good person. I didn’t support these rogues. Its not my fault.”

Nations endure difficulties because the people of the nation, and God’s people specifically, are not living righteously. The nation suffers because of the condition of the people, and the nation also suffers because of the condition of the leadership. One good example is found in Ezekiel 22:30, “And I sought for a man among them, that should build up the wall, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.” Another is Proverbs 29:2, “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked bear rule, the people mourn.” You see, both people and leaders share responsibility.

Set aside politics and the United States. Let’s look at the Kingdom of God. If followers of the Messiah do not impact their society, what will that society look like? Jesus told us in Matthew 5:13, “You are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savor, wherewith shall it be salted? It is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.” He later says that we are the light of the world, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” These are commands for action. It is those who know Jesus who are to impact the world. Good citizenship in the Kingdom of God translates to good citizenship in your nation. When it is not exercised in deed and in accountability, the nation declines or faces the consequences of its actions. [FULL SOURCE by Bill Wilson]

Diamonds And A Heart Of Gold

diamond-158431_640Pastor Emmanuel Momoh, of Sierra Leone uncovered an earthy treasure valued at over $62 million. It is believed to be among one of the 13 largest diamonds ever found, so imagine his amazement when in the small village of Yakadu, he discovered the 706-carat gem.

He purposed in his heart not to keep it unto himself, but to give it away, for the betterment of all around him. Pastor Momoh was moved by the efforts of the government to improve the failing infrastructure in his village.

African President Ernest Bai Koroma, said “It was a gift from God” and was thankful for the kindness of Momoh. Koroma pledged the funds received from the diamond, would be used wisely……. Read more here: Diamonds And A Heart Of Gold

Man’s Act of Self-Sacrifice in California Fires Illustrates Something More than Heroism

Man’s Act of Self-Sacrifice in California Fires Illustrates Something More than HeroismLast week, ABC News reported on one man’s incredible act of self-sacrifice for his family in the face of approaching wildfires. Although his act certainly demonstrates a rare heroism—a quality that seems to be disappearing in the passivity of today’s culture—it also demonstrates what the Bible calls the greatest kind of love.

According to the ABC News article, a California family—a mother, father, son, and two grandparents—evacuated their home shortly before it went up in flames along with their entire ranch and all of their possessions. As they drove away from their burning house, emergency response personnel saw the Tamayo family from a helicopter and landed to take them to safety. Unfortunately, however, the helicopter could only fit four people. One member of the Tamayo family would have to stay behind.

The father, Pepe, told the helicopter crew to take his family, choosing to remain on the ground. The reporter writes, “Pepe tried hard not [to] show his fear, but the flames were close.” The heroic father even called his daughter, who was not with the rest of the family, and told her, “[I]f I don’t see you again, remember I love you.”… read more

Drip, Drip, Drip, the Raindrops Began

God looked down on Earth and saw that the imaginations and thoughts of mankind were only evil continually (Genesis 6:5) and Called on a man named Noah to build an ark. There had never been raindrops before then, and it took Noah something like 120 years to complete the ark, a large boat. The earth had been watered by the mist from the ground. Who ever heard of such a thing—raindrops?

Peter wrote of that time when God’s patience and longsuffering waited until Noah had finished the ark, when the condition of mankind He had seen could be judged. That was a long time, for people in those days lived more than 900 years. But God was also making a way for the salvation of the righteous in that time.

Some people today are saying it has been a long time since the promise of Jesus coming to take out of this world those who belong to Him. “Where is the promise of His coming,” so they say, just as Peter proclaimed in 2 Peter 3:3-4. In somewhat the same way of delay, Jesus has held back His coming until a future “appointed time” in the hands of His Father, that He might “take out of the Gentiles a people for His name” (Acts 15:14-17). When the fullness of that number is completed, the “ark of His salvation” will be ready for boarding—in the twinkling of an eye…. read more

EQUIP AND EMPOWER MORE SECRET BELIEVERS IN NORTH KOREA

GIVE NOW

Your gift will help raise the $175,000 we need by October 29 to help provide Bibles, emergency food, medicine, safe houses, training and other critical resources to strengthen secret believers and the underground church in North Korea.

EQUIP AND EMPOWER MORE SECRET BELIEVERS IN NORTH KOREA GOAL: $175,000 BY OCTOBER 29

Hostilities in the Korean peninsula have spiked higher than at any other time in the previous decade.

Even as I write, the world watches the lingering threat of war.

But what you don’t see or hear about, on the evening news, are the precious believers hidden in plain sight.

And through God’s protection and grace, we’ve expanded our underground network in North Korea to smuggle supplies and resources to strengthen untold numbers of secret believers.

It’s tedious work. And it’s dangerous. So dangerous, in fact, I can’t share many details in writing.

But I can share that the result is nothing short of a miracle—God is using these resources to strengthen His church and expand His Kingdom in North Korea.

Our partners on the ground report believers are being empowered to pass on their faith—even amidst the incredible risk!

And I believe God is calling us to do more…

That’s why we’ve stepped out in faith and have established a goal of raising $175,000 by October 29 to provide resources to Christians in North Korea that will equip them with everything they need to endure today’s uncertainty and stay strong in their faith.

  1. Bibles
  2. Emergency Food
  3. Medicines
  4. Safe Houses
  5. Training
  6. Other Critical Resources

And I’m turning to friends like you for help. This is about more than survival. It’s about igniting a spark of revival in one of the most oppressive areas on the planet.

We know that the spiritual battle always intensifies when God is doing something amazing.

But please don’t wait. Anything you can give now, God will use to strengthen and equip His people who refuse to worship Kim Jong-un and who risk everything to follow Christ.

Thank you in advance for your generosity.

In Christ,

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Just Announced a MAJOR Change to How it Defines Life

Photo Credit: GettyIn a newly released proposal, the United States Department of Health and Human Services has added verbiage to its strategic mission that would expressly state that life begins at conception. The language appears in a HHS draft Strategic Plan for 2018 through 2022 and is a pro-life departure from the terms used by previous administrations.

As LiveAction reported, the document previously included the following introduction:

HHS accomplishes its mission through programs and initiatives that cover a wide spectrum of activities, serving Americans at every stage of life.

In the drafted version dated September 2017, five key words have been added (emphasis ours):

HHS accomplishes its mission through programs and initiatives that cover a wide spectrum of activities, serving and protecting Americans at every stage of life, beginning at conception…. read more
