Armour of God – Why We Need It, Part 2

The armour of God is extremely important in a believer’s life. Why? In order to win at war we need the proper clothing to get us through a battle. You never see a soldier go to war without their gear and armour. As believers we need this armour, but is not physical armour that a soldier wears. It is not visible to the eye, but it is very visible to the enemy.

The first step in receiving this armour is to have faith in Jesus Christ. It is trusting in the strength and might of the Lord.

Ephesians 6:10 In conclusion, be strong in the Lord [be empowered through your union with Him]; draw your strength from Him [that strength which His boundless might provides].

Romans 13:12 The night is far gone and the day is almost here. Let us then drop (fling away) the works and deeds of darkness and put on the [full] armor of light. 13 Let us live and conduct ourselves honorably and becomingly as in the [open light of] day, not in reveling (carousing) and drunkenness, not in immorality and debauchery (sensuality and licentiousness), not in quarreling and jealousy. 14 But clothe yourself with the Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah), and make no provision for [indulging] the flesh [put a stop to thinking about the evil cravings of your physical nature] to [gratify its] desires (lusts)….   1. That armor is needed to deflect Satan’s fiery guilt giving condeming darts that are hurled at people who are Christians. The armor keeps them from becoming like the person who hurls those darts at you.
