Algorthims are making us small-minded

Your life is mapped out for you but, not in the way that you think. How predictive algorithms narrow your perspective – and ultimately your choices.

We live in a world of curation. The internet — aided by algorithms that predict what we search, buy, listen to, read, watch and even who we want to date and marry — expertly helps to us find what we want.

Well, as long as it’s similar to whatever we’ve liked in the past.

And there’s the rub. The ubiquity of incredibly powerful algorithms designed to reinforce our interests also ensures that we see little of what’s new, different and unfamiliar. The very things that are at the heart of learning, understanding and innovation. lhwm notes: Each day we make decisions based on our own thoughts or Godly ones and those thoughts lead to an action. The very definition of cause and effect means –
a relationship between events or things, where one is the result of the other or others. This is a combination of action and reaction.

When we listen to a person and do not consider whether I should be doing this or not is an example of cause and effect, and we even sometimes go as far as to blame the other person when we make this decision. Now we have computers telling us what to do? It is our choice to make to accept or not accept whatever may come your way. God gave us this freedom of choosing

Deuteronomy 11:26 [ Choose the Blessing or the Curse ] Today I’m giving you the choice of a blessing or a curse.

It is wise to have Godly wisdom and discernment to help guide our lives into a direction that is pleasing to the Lord, and here is the bonus we will begin to make decisions that will be less invasive to ourselves. Stop the ride and get off!

Proverbs 9:12 If you are wise, your wisdom will help you. If you mock, you alone will be held responsible.
Proverbs 29:11 A fool expresses all his emotions, but a wise person controls them.
Proverbs 1:5 a wise person will listen and continue to learn, and an understanding person will gain direction—
