Jordan (today) began with the three ancient biblical nations of Edom, Moab, and Ammon.
South Jordan was Edom (Genesis 25:30, 36:1)
Central Jordan was Moab (Genesis 19:37)
Northern Jordan was Ammon (Genesis 19:38)
God gave them this land and then they lost their land, but the people are still residing in Jordan today. God is not done with Edom, Moab, and Ammon He actually has a plan for their future. Location: God gave to Moab and Ammon the territory called in ancient times, “Ar” (Dt.2:9), the area east of Jordan and southward from the Jabbok River to the southern tip of the Salt Sea.
